The Computer Guy's first job out of college was with IBM.  There he came to witness  the computer revolution with the onset of the IBM PC.   Since that time, the Computer Guy has seen the evolution of the personal computing marketplace.

He also spent a part of his career at BBN in Cambridge, MA.  BBN was the pioneer of the Internet era and won the US Department of Defense contract to build the nation's first cross country computer network.   The Advanced Research Project Agency (ARPA) was founded as an agency of the Department of Defense in 1958 as a result of the Soviet Sputnik operation.   Realizing that the Soviet Union was advancing beyond the US technologically, the US Government commissioned ARPA to develop and execute programs that would augment US technology capacity.

The "ARPAnet", as it came to be known is considered the "grandfather" of the modern day Internet.    Many of today's Internet technologies were based on the findings of BBN.  The Computer Guy witnessed first hand the development and market acceptance of BBN's technologies and looks back at that time with pride in having been part of the Internet revolution.   The disruptive technologies from BBN  provided us with the "default" benefits of today's computing era - for what would today's world be like without the Internet?

The Computer Guy has spent his career assisting businesses and consumers to efficiently expand their horizons through implementation of cutting edge technologies.  Optimizing the way in which people and business uses technology for benefit is what he's all about.   How can the Computer Guy help you to be more efficient?   Call us to find out how we can be of help - 508-697-5324.
